Last night I put up and decorated this years Christmas tree. Went thru all the boxes of things I've collected over the years, broke an ornament or two, got tangled in the lights, and almost fell off the ladder as I put on the star!

Happy Monday and almost February! My brother is back east visiting my family and as I spoke with them over the weekend, I heard about what a great time they were having and all the amazing food they were eating making me a little homesick. Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog. It has been a while since I last posted due to my new job over at Nickelodeon. It has been truly amazing and I feel so blessed to work with such talented people. Here are a few giraffes I have drawn since the last posting. Lately I have been doing quick sketches on post-its. I have found it to be one of my favorite forms of sketching. They seem to always be accessibly and easily disposable if you dislike your drawing. Plus, you can stick them on the wall! :) I'll try to post more of them up here as time goes by.

A few weeks ago I started a character design course at schoolism.com with the amazing Stephen Silver. For the first weeks assignment we were asked to design a character named Fat Joe based on a given description.

Scene- The bar of a low dive on the London water front. A squalid, dingy room dimly lighted by kerosene lamps placed in brackets on the walls. At the far end of the bar stands Fat Joe, the proprietor, a gross bulk of a man with an enormous stomach. His face is red and bloated, his little piggish eyes being almost concealed by the rolls of fat. The thick fingers of his big hands are loaded with cheap rings and a gold watch chain that stretches across his checked waistcoat.
